The CNC opens formal proceedings for alleged anti-competitive practices, consisting of the cornering of television space for telesales broadcasts
The probe was opened pursuant to a written complaint filed with the Investigations Division against EL CORTE INGLÉS, S.A. and against its associated companies PUBLIECI TELEVISIÓN, S.A. and CANAL CLUB DE DISTRIBUCIÓN DE OCIO Y CULTURA, S.A. alleging practices of the kind prohibited by articles 1 and 2 of the Competition Act

The opening of proceedings does not prejudge the final outcome of the investigation. There is now a maximum period of 18 months for the investigation of the case and its resolution by the CNC Council.
